Your Help Make Someone’s life Easier
Join us in making a lasting impact on the lives of the children at Lenkishon Primary School in Ilbisil, Kajiado County, Kenya. The Face of Kenya International Foundation is launching the "Water for Education" campaign to provide a reliable and sustainable source of clean water through the drilling of a borehole, equipped with a solar-powered pumping facility, for Lenkishon Primary School and the surrounding Maasai community.
The semi-arid region of Kajiado is home to nomadic pastoralists whose livelihoods and children's education are constantly disrupted by frequent droughts and water shortages. The current situation forces children to trek long distances to fetch water, affecting their attendance and performance in school. The "Water for Education" campaign aims to change this by providing a consistent water supply, improving school attendance, and enhancing the overall health and hygiene of students and the community.
Key Objectives
> Reliable Water Supply: Establish a borehole with a solar-powered pump to provide clean water for over 500 students and staff at Lenkishon Primary School.
> Improved Education Outcomes: Reduce the impact of droughts on school attendance by ensuring students remain in school throughout the year.
> Community Support: Provide water access for domestic and livestock use to support the surrounding Maasai community, reducing the need for seasonal migration.
> Health and Hygiene: Promote better health by reducing waterborne diseases among the students and the community.
> How You Can Help: We are calling on individuals, organizations, and well-wishers to join hands with us in making this dream a reality. Your contribution can be in the form of financial support, expertise, materials, or logistical assistance. Every effort counts towards a brighter future for the children of Lenkishon and the community at large.
